Where is Commencement?
Commencement will be held at the DCU Center, 50 Foster St., Worcester, Mass.
What time does Commencement begin?
Commencement exercises begin at 10:00 a.m on Saturday, May 4. Graduates must arrive by 9:00 a.m. Commencement will be approximately two hours long.
Do I need tickets?
Tickets are not required for Commencement 2019. You will receive six invitations in the mail to hand out to family and friends. However, students are allowed to invite unlimited guests to Commencement.
Where can we park? Is there handicap parking?

Parking prices vary depending upon the event and time spent in garage.
Accessible Parking spaces are located around the facility at designated areas. Daily parking rates are in effect.
Who do we contact if we need handicap seating?
On the advice of the DCU Center, guests with physical challenges can be dropped off at door #13 and will be assisted upon arrival by ushers to appropriate seating. Only specific requests for accommodating a family member in a wheelchair need to e-mail their request to firstname.lastname@example.org
Where do I get my cap and gown?
Caps and gowns will be available for pickup after April 22 at the Becker College bookstore on the Worcester Campus.
Do Graduate and Professional students graduate together or are they with other students?
Students are seated by program, so day and graduate and professional students are together.
Will I receive my diploma on Commencement day?
All students will receive an empty diploma jacket as they walk across the stage. Diplomas will be sent within six weeks of graduation if a student has completed their degree requirements and fulfilled their financial obligations to the College.
How will I know if I am graduating with honors?
If your GPA is 3.50 or higher on April 1, 2019, you will graduate with honors when you participate in Commencement. For students who have not completed their degree requirements, this could change after courses are taken at a later date. For students who have completed their degree requirements, their final honors designation will be reflected in the Commencement program.
The following are honors designations for students earning a bachelor’s degree at Becker College.
- 3.50-3.69 Cum Laude
- 3.70-3.89 Magna Cum Laude
- 3.90-4.00 Summa Cum Laude
How many credits can I have outstanding and still participate in the May 2019 Commencement?
Students with seven or fewer credits to earn will be allowed to participate in Commencement exercises.
Will there be a photographer, or is there an area set aside where we can take photos?
A professional photographer has been hired for the Commencement ceremony; each graduate will be photographed receiving his or her diploma. Your family will receive information directly from the photographer about purchasing the photos. Please advise your guests that the aisles must be kept clear during the ceremony and no one, except for college personnel and the photographers who have been officially hired for this event, will be allowed near the stage. The ceremony will be videotaped and then posted on the College’s website sometime after the event, and a press release will be sent to your hometown newspaper.

Where do I go to line up?
Graduates need to be at the DCU to line up no later than 9:00 a.m. Students should enter Door 1 or Door 2 and proceed to the Grand Ballroom on the top floor for line up.
Save the Date:
All students who have achieved honors status at Commencement will be invited to the Honors Convocation to be held on the Leicester Campus of Becker College at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, followed by the Grad Finale, a reception for family and friends from 4:00-5:00 p.m. All graduating students, family, and friends are invited to Grad Finale.
