Honor Societies Induction Ceremony

Minutemen Room, Leicester Campus
6:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. Ceremony
6:30 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. Refreshments

Each year during the spring semester, the College participates in three national honor societies, Alpha Lambda Delta, Alpha Sigma Lambda, and Alpha Chi. Students who meet the qualifications for the respective honor society are inducted at the Honor Societies Induction Ceremony.

Alpha Lambda Delta qualifications:

  • Top 20% of the freshman class that has earned at least a 3.5 – 4.0 GPA during their first semester at Becker College
  • Full-time student status during first semester
  • Not enrolled in any foundations courses at Becker College
  • Enrolled in a 4-year program at Becker College

Chi Alpha Sigma qualifications:

  • Junior and senior student-athletes who maintained a 3.4 – 4.0 GPA and earned a letter in their sport.

Alpha Chi qualifications:

  • The national constitution of Alpha Chi limits membership to the highest ten percent of full-time students in the junior and senior classes, combined. To be eligible for election, a transfer student must have earned not fewer than twenty-four semester hours of credit toward a baccalaureate degree.

Academic Award Ceremony

Becker College students excel at different points in their college career and in different ways. The Academic Awards Ceremony provides the opportunity to recognize and reward academic excellence, social responsibility, and creative expression in our students. While they may also have significant academic accomplishments, these students are recognized for their contributions in areas such as service, leadership, and equality. Recipients of these awards have been selected from nominations that were submitted by the College community.

Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society Induction

The Theta Nu Chapter of the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society is recognized throughout the country as a group of students who are beyond the traditional college age and who have excelled in continuing education programs.  

The purpose of Alpha Sigma Lambda is to recognize scholastic achievement by non-traditional students.  To be considered for nomination, a student must have completed at least four semesters at Becker and have earned a minimum of 50 credits at Becker College.  Students selected must possess a GPA between 3.5 and 4.0.  Of these  students, only the top ten percent are selected for induction.

This is a fantastic opportunity to provide industry feedback to our seniors and speak to students regarding potential opportunities you may have in your organization.

Athletics Awards Celebration

This event recognizes and pays tribute to senior student-athletes for their time and dedication to the Becker College athletics program. In addition, the athletics department presents four individual awards: the John Dorsey Scholar-Athlete Award, the Outstanding Male Athlete Award, the Outstanding Female Athlete Award, and the Gene R. Alley Sportsmanship Award.
