Due to COVID19 and this unprecedented time, Becker College will not be hosting an in person July Orientation. We will continue to offer Be at Becker virtual events and programs through admissions; please keep checking www.becker.edu/campusvisits and your email for information regarding virtual event offerings.
Planning is currently underway for an orientation experience to occur in the future, prior to your arrival on campus. More information will be updated on this site, as that becomes available. Thank you for your patience during this time!
The Office of Campus Activities & Student Leadership oversees the College’s orientation and transition programs for incoming first year and transfer students.
First Year Students
Please be on the lookout for the following:
My Student Body
My Student Body is a widely used online educational, evidence-based prevention program aimed at reducing the risk of drug and alcohol abuse and sexual violence among college students. All incoming first year students are required to complete both the drug and alcohol modules as well as the sexual violence module. Courses will be available for students to complete in August. My Student Body is a widely used educational program in higher education and will provide all incoming students with a common base of knowledge and resources, as well as help schools comply with federal regulations.
All incoming first year students will participate in engaging and dynamic activities during opening weekend. This weekend of programming will include presentations, speakers, and social activities for the incoming class, and will provide opportunities for students to connect and prepare for the opening of the academic year. It is expected that all incoming students will be present and participate in Fall Orientation events.
Orientation and Transition programs for Transfer Students include a virtual online orientation course, and a transfer-specific welcome program in August or January (depending on your entrance date). All transfer students (who are beginning in the fall semester) will experience the following orientation/transitional programs:
All incoming Fall transfer students will participate in engaging and dynamic activities during opening weekend. Transfer students will engage with each other in a transfer-specific programming as well as participate throughout the rest of the opening weekend. This weekend of programming will include presentations, speakers, and social activities for the incoming class (both first year and transfer students), and will provide opportunities for students to connect and prepare for the opening of the academic year. It is expected that all incoming students will be present and participate in Fall Orientation events.
January Orientation (for students new to Becker College in the spring semester)
This program is designed only for students entering Becker College for the first time in the spring semester (first year students or transfer students).
Please note: if you are an international student, starting as a new student at Becker College in the fall semester, you will move to campus on the date communicated to you by the Director of International Student Services. You will participate in an international student orientation and you will then join in with the Fall Orientation schedule of events. Please review all instructions and expectations for international student orientation programs with the Director of International Student Services.
A Note for All Incoming Students:
As you can gather from this information, it will be imperative for you to check your Becker email account regularly throughout the summer. This is the primary way the College will communicate need-to-know information to you. And it will be the primary mode of communication moving forward when you are here on campus starting in the fall.
