Fuller Campus Center, Second Floor- Leicester
964 Main Street
Leicester, MA 01524
It is our pleasure and privilege to welcome your family to the Becker College community. Informed and involved families are crucial to student success, and New Student Orientation is not just for students!
Families, parents and guardians are strongly encouraged to attend the Family Orientation program, which coincides with the first day of New Student Orientation. The Family Orientation Program has been specifically designed to address family/parent/guardian concerns and provide families with information and resources geared towards families of new students. Both families and students receive comparable information, but in concurrently running programs. Families should not plan to spend a lot of time with their student during New Student Orientation; orientation events foster the separation process.
This year's New Student Orientation will begin with registration between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. on the Leicester campus. When you arrive on campus, be ready to drop your student and their overnight belongings in front of the Fuller Campus Center for student registration. You will then be directed where to park on campus and will proceed to the Leicester Gymnasium for family registration, and your student will meet you in the gym. Sessions for families will begin at 9:30 a.m. and will conclude 4:30, with a lunch break. Please keep in mind that there can be varying temperature conditions throughout the orientation program as we move in and out of air conditioned venues, therefore we suggest you bring a light jacket or sweatshirt.
There are no scheduled events for families on Day 2, but you can plan on picking your student up at 12:30 (on the Leicester campus, where orientation takes place on Day 2).
Both campus bookstores will be open during orientation:
Leicester Campus Bookstore
(Campus Center West building)
Day 1 of each session- 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m.
Day 2 of each session 10:00 a.m.- 1:00 p.m.
Worcester Campus Bookstore
(Weller Academic Center, 61 Sever Street)
Day 2 of each session 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Please note that the Family Orientation program is designed for adults, because of the structure and content of the program. Child care is not available. Additionally, only two family members/parents/guardians for each new student are allowed to attend due to space limitations. On-campus housing for parents or family members is not provided, however information on area hotels can be found here.
