Parents Set the Standard for Kids’ Perception of Body Image, Bay State Parent magazine, June 27

Parents can have either a positive or a negative effect on their children’s body image and eating habits, according to an article by Becker College student Austin Widmer. A graduate student clinician in the college’s Mental Health Counseling program, Widmer encourages adults to make their homes a place where healthy choices are encouraged.

Becker College Chief of Police David Bousquet is the new president of the International Association of Campus Law Enforcement Administrators.  The news was also reported by the Telegram & Gazette.

Dickson takes over Seton Hill field hockey program, triblive.com, June 25

Kyla Dickson has been named as the new field hockey coach at Seton Hill after coaching at Becker College for two years. Under Dickson’s leadership, Becker reached the NCAA Tournament last year for the first time in school history and a total of five Becker College players earned all-conference honors.

Students delve into game code,  Telegram & Gazette, June 24

Eighth-graders from Tahanto Regional Middle School recently took part in a gaming workshop where they were able to team with students from Becker College to explore elements of game development, including game design, game art and animation, motion capture, programming, sound, testing, and production. A story about the program was also posted on the Becker College website.

Becker College graduate Haley Lancey is now the owner of Chebaco Kennel in Swanzey.  Lancey, 23, earned her associate’s degree in animal care from Becker.

Best Colleges And Universities In America To Study Game Design, 2017CEOWORLD Magazine, June 21

Becker College made the top ten on CEOWORLD’s list of the top U.S. colleges and universities to study game design. The magazine looked at 80 schools that offer game design programs. Becker was ranked number 8.

Military Veteran Leads a Movement to Lift the Mask off Mental Health Illness,  Daily Times Leader, June 20

Becker College is mentioned in an article about the Quell Foundation. The foundation is partnering with several mental health degree programs including Becker’s Mental Health Counseling program.
