Gaming for the Greater Good

Published on Thursday, October 26th, 2017

On November 2, the Greater Worcester Community Foundation (GWCF), Becker College, and the Massachusetts Digital Games Institute (MassDiGI) will co-host “Interactive Media & You,” a panel of experts and break-out sessions exploring the role of digital games in business and non-profit success. Attendees will learn how interactive media can help their organization advance its mission by connecting, engaging, and supporting its constituents or clients. Community and non-profit leaders from Worcester and Central Massachusetts are encouraged to attend this free event. Participants will have an opportunity to compete for a GWCF mini-grant in support of a prototype interactive project in collaboration with MassDiGI and Becker.

Panelists include:

  • Jason Kahn, founder and chief science officer at Neuromotion Labs. Neuromotion’s bioresponsive games help kids build skills to better manage their emotions
  • Nikita Virani, CEO at Wizdy Games. Wizdy helps achieve results by engaging and empowering asthma and food allergy patients through games
  • Ryan Canuel, Becker alumnus and founder and CEO of Petricore Games. Petricore builds games as well as interactive products for museum kiosks, tradeshows, and corporate spaces
  • MassDiGI staff and Becker game design students and faculty will participate during the break-out session

The event will be held on Thursday, Nov., 2 from 9 to 11:30 am at Becker College’s Boutin Center, Multipurpose Room, 44 West St., Worcester, MA.  Seating is limited. RSVP at: greaterworcester.org.  Click on the Nonprofit Support Center tab.
