Becker Welcomes New Assistant Dean
An experienced attorney and professor of legal studies and criminal justice has been named assistant dean of Becker College’s School of Nursing and Behavioral Sciences. Ursula Furi-Perry, an expert in building, managing, and executing new projects and programs, will provide leadership to the departments of Criminal Justice/Legal Studies, Psychology and Education, and oversee courses in Sociology and Government. Her appointment is effective immediately.

Before joining Becker, Furi-Perry, a nationally published writer and author of 14 books on legal topics, served as director of academic excellence and adjunct professor at the Massachusetts School of Law. Additionally, she has taught undergraduate and graduate courses in law, paralegal studies, criminal justice, and government at a number of institutions, including Becker College, the Center for Legal Studies, Bridgewater State University, and Northern Essex Community College.
A frequent speaker and guest on radio programs, Furi-Perry has been quoted by various publications, including the Wall Street Journal Law Blog, Law360, and American Lawyer Magazine. She has given keynote presentations and served as a panelist before bar and paralegal associations, including the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education Paralegal Conference, the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Creative Ways Conference, and the Massachusetts Bar Association’s Young Lawyer Career Conference.
Furi-Perry holds a degree in politics and American studies from Brandeis University and a Juris Doctor magna cum laude from the Massachusetts School of Law at Andover.
