Walk, Build, and Focus on Peace at Upcoming Events

The Center for Global Citizenship has a trio of events planned for the weekend of Sept. 15-16. Be Like Brit 5K Walk: The 7th Annual Be Like Brit 5K Walk will be held on Saturday, September 16, at Elm Park in Worcester.  Join the Becker team in walking around the park and supporting our global partner.  There will be music, Patriots cheerleaders, food, and fun for the whole family.  Wear your Becker t-shirt!

Habitat for Humanity Day: A Habitat for Humanity Day will be held in Auburn on Saturday, September 16.  The Becker van leaves the Center for Global Citizenship at 7:30 a.m. and returns at 4:00 p.m.  Faculty/staff are invited to work with our students. In addition, a Houston Habitat service trip is being explored.  Please stay tuned for more information and let Debbie know if you would like to participate.

Peacemaking in Perilous Times: “Peacemaking in Perilous Times” – an evening panel on making peace at every level; international, national, and local – will be held at the First Unitarian Church, 90 Main St., Worcester, on Friday, September 15, 5:30 p.m.  The event is sponsored by the Center for Nonviolent Solutions.  Guests will include Congressman Jim McGovern.
