ASSISTANT DEAN TO SPEAK AT CONFERENCE
Nationally published author and director of Becker College’s Criminal Justice and Legal Studies program, Ursula Furi-Perry, has been chosen to speak at the 8th Circuit Judicial Conference in Des Moines, Iowa.
Furi-Perry, a practicing attorney, is Assistant Dean of the School of Nursing & Behavioral Sciences and leads the criminal justice and legal studies programs. She will speak about her book, “The Millennial Lawyer,” to an audience of federal judges and attorneys admitted to practice in the federal courts. The annual conference will be held in August, and approximately 1,000 attendees are expected, among them a justice of the United States Supreme Court.
Furi-Perry has done extensive research on millennial attorneys in the workplace, and is well-versed in the area of managing and integrating young attorneys to strengthen law firms.
“It’s an honor to have been selected to address such a distinguished audience, and share my insights on the very important topic of millennial attorneys,” said Furi-Perry. “With so many of them now getting out of law school and entering the workplace, it’s important to know what motivates them and how to build lasting relations with them. Millennial lawyers are very entrepreneurial and tech savvy, and consequently they are influencing law firm technology, firm policies and procedures, and career paths.”
Furi-Perry is the author of fourteen books and speaks frequently on legal issues.
The 2018 Eighth Circuit Judicial Conference will be held in Des Moines from Aug. 15-17 at the Community Choice Credit Union Convention Center.
