Professor Dolores A. Price believes that healthy living and lifelong learning should be integrated into everyone’s daily life. A native of New Jersey, Price came to New England to attend Boston Bouve College at Northeastern University as a physical therapy student. Upon graduation, she worked in many different settings where she enjoyed the rewards of teaching those with physical disabilities and medical conditions how to help themselves through exercise.
Continuing her education at Northeastern University, Professor Price earning a master’s degree in rehabilitation administration, and has served in a variety of administrative roles, including director of rehabilitation for the Children’s Hospital Health and Rehabilitative Service Program at Wrentham State School, and director of physical therapy at Westborough State Hospital, as well as the coordinator of clinical education in physical therapy for UMass Memorial.
Professor Price started her career at Becker College in 1995 as the academic coordinator of clinical education for the former physical therapist assistant program, and now serves as a professor in the exercise science program. She finds it very rewarding to watch the transformation of people of all ages as they grow and find their way in the world, which is why she enjoys teaching courses such as Fitness for Life, Lifespan Motor Development, Nutrition, and Stress Management.
