Varsity esports team to compete in 4th game

The Becker College Varsity Esports Program has added a fourth game, Paladins, to its roster of titles. The newest team in the program will be playing in the National Association of Collegiate Esports (NACE) 2019 Crystal Cup for Paladins starting on February 2.
In addition to the NACE Crystal Cup for Paladins, Becker has also been selected to compete in the Gem Cup for SMITE.
Last fall, Becker sent one team to compete in the inaugural NACE Championship for SMITE. This time, the college will be represented by three teams: two competing in SMITE and the other in Paladins.
The tournaments feature the popular online team-based games Paladins and SMITE, both of which are made by Hi-Rez Studios. Participants will include teams from NACE members as well as independent institutions like Becker, making it a special opportunity for the college.
Matches will take place each week beginning this weekend with select streams to be broadcast on the NACE Twitch channel.
The Varsity Esports Program also has teams playing League of Legends and Overwatch. For more information about the Becker Varsity Esports Program please follow us on Twitter @beckeresports or visit beckeresports.gg.
