About the Course:

A practical introduction to psychotropic medications, providing information about how commonly prescribed medications are used and how they work in the human body. This course examines modern drug treatment for mental disorders including psychosis, mood disorders, and addictions, and addresses different classes of drugs in conjunction with diagnostic factors, effectiveness, side effects, risk factors and biological actions. Prerequisite: PSYC1001.  Meets the requirement for Psychology and Social Science elective.
