About the Course:

This course will introduce students to common health problems beginning at the cellular level. Tissues and their cellular components will be examined in order to best understand the illness process. The etiology of adult diseases will provide a focus for class lectures and discussions. Cellular disruptions resulting from injury, environmental toxins, pharmacogenomics, and the impact of stress on the body’s ability to combat disease will be analyzed. The role of nursing and health care professionals in the assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of treatment protocols will be explored. A grade of C+ or better is required in nursing courses to continue in the Nursing program. Pre and co-requisite courses must be taken as outlined in the Becker College RN-BSN curriculum plan.
