About the Course:

This course provides an overview of the field of analytics, which has been defined as the extensive use of data, quantitative analysis, exploratory or predictive models, and fact-based management to drive decisions and actions. The development and use of data warehouses and data marts to support business analytics is discussed. The use of key performance indicators, dashboards and scorecards for performance management and opportunity assessment are addressed. Text and web mining are discussed, and the application of selected data mining techniques to business decision making situations is illustrated. Students actively participate in the delivery of this course through application assignments and project presentations. Prerequisite: MATH 2200.
