About the Course:

The Voices of the World I will expose students to different cultures around the world. This course is designed to help students inhabit the intellectual and emotional worlds of people from around the world, who share our common humanity while living very different lives. This course offers students a series of insights into different ways of thinking, through different cultural and social realities, rooted in different histories. Insightful literary works are the best guides in developing empathy and an understanding of human differences. Every work considered in this class will be supplemented by a short overview of the historical and cultural realities of the country that shaped both the creator and his/her work. Prerequisite: ENGL1003.
