About the Course:

This course is designed to introduce the student to the basic concepts of horsemanship and equitation. The course is directed at students with no or limited prior riding instruction. The course includes both lecture and in-saddle work (1 hour lecture and 2-2 hour labs). Students with previous riding experience may ask to test out of this course. An additional elective will then replace this course to maintain the credit load. Students who are not Equine Studies or Equine Management majors will be charged an additional fee of $1,000 for this course.

Meets the requirement for Equine elective. Course offered: Fall, Spring.
