Calin GaleriuCalin Galeriu

Adjunct Professor of Science and Mathematics
Division: General Eduction
Email: calin.galeriu@becker.edu

Dr. Calin Galeriu has earned a B.S. in physics from the University of Bucharest, with a concentration in solid-state physics, a M.A. in physics from Clark University, for his experimental research of molecular magnets, and a Ph.D. in physics from Worcester Polytechnic Institute, for his theoretical study of electrons in semiconductors.

Dr. Galeriu has been teaching at Becker College since 2006. At first he has taught Integrated Physical Sciences and College Algebra, and now he is teaching Physics I and Physics II. Dr. Galeriu is also working full time at Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School in Charlton. He is a passionate educator who goes the extra mile to provide his students with an engaging learning experience. He is the recipient of an ING 2009 Unsung Heroes Award, for his surprising use of the Nintendo DS Lite console in the mathematics classroom. He is also the recipient of an AAPT 2014 Bauder Fund Award, for his innovative use of the Arduino microcontroller for physics experiments.Dr. Galeriu is a member of the American Association of Physics Teachers and of the New England Association of Chemistry Teachers. He is the author or co-author of one textbook and 20 published articles.
