Becker College is proud to announce that Robert Caron, Sc.D., interim dean of the School of Nursing & Health Sciences, has been selected for the Leadership Worcester Class of 2020. In this fifth cohort, Dr. Caron joins other professionals from businesses, nonprofits, and other organizations based throughout the Worcester area. Beginning in September, the Class of 2020 will embark on a nine-month program to learn about the Worcester community, explore relevant themes, learn from key stakeholders, and forge connections that will take them to the next step in their leadership.
Dr. Caron has spent most of his time in academia as a full-time professor, with a track record of new program development and adoption of innovative teaching practices. His doctoral preparation was in the realm of biomechanics and human movement science, and he has published several articles on biomechanics and interpersonal coordination dynamics. His current focus in academia is new and improved program development, experiential and project-based learning, and helping students discover career and life direction.
“I am honored to be selected into the Worcester Leadership Class of 2020. It will be an exciting opportunity to connect with existing and emerging leaders in the Worcester area and share our experience and perspectives,” said Dr. Caron. “Leadership Worcester is an important program that both helps leaders grow, and ensures they understand the landscape of growth and the needs of various sectors within the Worcester economy and community. I’m sure I will learn a great deal from the program!”
