Colleges of Distinction award badgesBecker College has again been recognized as a national and Massachusetts College of Distinction for the 2020-2021 academic year, as well as a Nursing College of Distinction and a Career Development College of Distinction.

Colleges of Distinction is a national guidebook honoring schools throughout the U.S. for excellence in undergraduate-focused education. The organization noted Becker’s commitment to students with the ability and agility to be entrepreneurial, socially responsible global citizens who are ready to navigate the complexities of a rapidly changing world.

Each school in the Colleges of Distinction consortium has been thoroughly vetted to ensure they meet Four Distinctions: Engaged Students, Great Teaching, Vibrant Communities, and Successful Outcomes. Colleges of Distinction believes these tenants are fundamental elements of an effective undergraduate education.

“This distinguished and continued recognition conveys Becker’s excellence in providing a superior education for our students,” said Nancy P. Crimmin, Ed.D., president. “In addition, recognition for career development reflects our integrated career education and advising model as well as our signature initiative, the Agile Mindset, both of which are dedicated to preparing students for professional success in the ever-evolving job market.”

Becker College provides students with a number of real-world, on-campus opportunities to develop the skills and knowledge needed to be successful. These include a veterinary clinic open to the public, an augmented and virtual reality lab, a nursing simulation lab, a crime scene lab, and a counseling clinic that trains students in the master’s in mental health counseling program as they work with individuals and families in the community.

Recognition for academic excellence is evident in Becker’s programs. The Princeton Review ranks Becker’s undergraduate game design program #2 in the world and its MFA in interactive media design is ranked 10th in the world. The College’s nursing and veterinary tech students continue to rank above the national average on their respective licensing exams.
