Art exhibit features work by Becker faculty
Published on: October 3, 2019
Becker College faculty members are taking part of a month-long art exhibition at the Sprinkler Factory Gallery in Worcester.
The exhibit, “Spooky Interaction at a Distance,” reflects on the enormous call-and-response influence of interactive art as contemporary medium.
This exhibit showcases a selection of interactive media artists whose work and paths have formed a serendipitous intersection across time and space at Becker College. The group comprises former and current Becker Game Design faculty, with specializations in character, level and game art, 3D animation and effects, music and audio, and interactive design and development. The pieces curated for this exhibit reflect both these areas of professional practice as well as more personal work and will include digital painting/sculpture, animation, audio and mixed media installation.
The public opening reception will be Saturday October 5, from 5-8 p.m. and will include a discussion with the artists on the topic of the challenges to, and progress for, the perception of the game medium as art.
The Sprinkler Factory Gallery is located at 38 Harlow St. The exhibition will run through Sunday, October 27. For more information, visit the gallery’s website at http://sprinklerfactory.com/events/spooky-interaction-at-a-distance/
