Becker students named All-American Scholars

Five members of the Becker College women’s ice hockey program and one member from the men’s ice hockey program have been named Krampade All-American Scholars by the American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA).
The five women’s ice hockey team members to be named All-American Scholars include Clare Conway, of Billerica, Mass., Madelyn Morgan, of Riverside, Calif., Julia Ravenelle, of Barrington, N.H., Shelby Reaugh, of Raleigh, N.C., and Samantha Talmadge, of Hamden, Conn.
Hawks men’s ice hockey player Phillip Garcia, of Brooklyn, N.Y., also was recognized as a All-American Scholar.
In an academically challenging year due to the effects of COVID-19, the AHCA changed their criteria for this year’s honorees. A qualifying student-athlete in 2019-20 must have achieved a 3.75 GPA or higher for the fall semester and played in at least 40 percent of the team’s games.
Talmadge made her fourth consecutive appearance on the Krampade All-American Scholar Honors list. The AHCA has been honoring student-athletes with this award since the 2016-17 academic year.
Conway and Ravenelle make their second appearances on the Krampade All-American Scholar list, having both been named to the honor as freshmen last season.
Garcia, Morgan, and Reaugh are on the Krampade All-American Scholar list for the first time.
