Boston Alumni & Friends Regional Reception

Peter Rowden and Christine Meola Alumni and friends joined Becker College at the Boston Marriott Copley Place on December 12, 2018.  The guests, including several alumni from the class of 2018, heard remarks from President Crimmin and host, Trustee Peter Rowden, about Becker’s current projects and priorities.

Golden Years Luncheon

attendees at 2018 Golden Luncheon The Becker College Alumni Association formed the Fifty-Year Association to honor graduates who are celebrating or have celebrated their fifty-year reunion from Leicester Junior College or Becker College. This year, on October 19, 2018 the Class of 1968 joined the Fifty-Year Association at the 28th Annual Golden Years Luncheon.  The luncheon celebrates everyone who is celebrating or has celebrated their 50th reunion.  Each year, the oldest graduate is honored with the Golden Graduate Award.  This year, the awards were given to one member of the class of 1937 and one from the class of 1938, both of whom had celebrated their 100th birthday.

Llew Evans Scholarship Golf Tournament

The Llew Evans Scholarship Golf Tournament was held on Monday September 17, 2018 at the Wachusett Country Club.  All proceeds from the tournament benefit the D. Llewellyn Evans Scholarship fund.  With 108 golfers the course was full of energy.  Thank you to everyone that participated for supporting Becker’s students.  With your help, we were able to raise $90,000 to benefit the D. Llewellyn Evans Scholarship Fund!

A Night at Fenway Park

Fenway Park signAlumni and guests came to Fenway Park in the hopes of watching the Red Sox beat the Yankees.  Luckily, the Red Sox did not disappoint! Guests enjoyed a buffet sponsored by the Becker College Alumni Association, cheering along with a rowdy stadium as the Sox tie the game in the bottom of the 9th and head into extra innings.  In the bottom of the 10th inning, the Sox pulled through with the win!

Cape Cod Alumni & Friends Regional Reception

Guests at the Wianno Club Alumni and friends joined Becker College at the Wianno Club in Osterville on July 26, 2018.  Guests heard from Ursula Furi-Perry, Dean of Humanities and Social Sciences, about exciting programs at Becker, including the School of Graduate and Professional Studies and the forensics lab on campus.  President Nancy Crimmin informed the guests about new projects and priorities for the College including a new green space on the property of the former Worcester Tennis Club.

Worcester Alumni & Friends Regional Reception

Crimmin welcomed alumni and friends to a reception hosted by Mark Fuller on Thursday, May 31, 2018 at Tatnuck Country Club.  More than 50 guests enjoyed hearing from Corporator and host Mark Fuller, as well as incoming Chair of the Board of Trustees, Christine Cassidy.  In her presentation, Dr. Crimmin gave an update about the College, including our recent distinctions and accolades, as well as our goals for the future.

Leicester Junior College All-Class Reunion & Dedication of the Minutemen Room

Danny DelMastro ’70 spoke about their time at Leicester Junior with fondness and humor, bringing a smile to the faces of all in attendance.  President Nancy P. Crimmin remarked, “Our shared history is something that is wonderful, and something to celebrate. While our name has evolved over the years, our focus has, and will continue to be, on ensuring that alumni from all of our iterations will not be forgotten. This room is one example of how we will ensure the students of today and tomorrow will learn about our illustrious history and the melding of two great institutions into one.”

Hartford Alumni & Friends Regional Reception

Jay DiGeronimo and Dr. CrimminPresident Dr. Nancy P. Crimmin welcomed alumni and friends to a reception hosted by Danny DelMastro on Thursday, April 5, 2018 at the Hartford Canoe Club. Joining our alumni and friends were newly admitted students of the class of 2022.  Dr. Crimmin gave alumni an update on the affairs at Becker College and gave the admitted students an opportunity to learn more about their prospective school.

Florida Alumni & Friends Regional Receptions

President Crimmin and guestsIn January, Becker’s new president, Dr. Nancy P. Crimmin, traveled to three cities in Florida with Christine Meola, Vice President of Institutional Advancement, and Mary Maloney, Director of Alumni Relations & Planned Giving.  On Monday, January 8, 2018, Laura Andrassy ’69 welcomed alumni and friends into her home in Palm Beach.  Guests had a chance to meet Dr. Crimmin and hear her speak about the affairs of the College.  That Tuesday, January 9, they traveled to Naples, where they were welcomed to the home of Carol ’56 and Greg Reid for their second reception.  The week ended on Thursday, January 11, with a reception for the Tampa area at the Renaissance Vinoy Hotel in St. Petersburg, hosted by James ’53 and Patricia Generelli.
