Step 6: Gateway Math Foundation

The Becker College Gateway Program is designed to give students who need to review basic math concepts a head start before the fall semester begins.

At Becker College, placement in the Gateway math foundation course is determined by each student’s skill level based on the current SAT/ACT score.  Students will be scheduled for our summer Gateway math foundation course if their Math SAT score is less than 500 or the ACT score is less than 22 in Math. While this course does not count toward graduation credit, completion of the Gateway math foundation course is important before moving onto college level math courses.

The Gateway Program provides students with the opportunity to complete the Gateway math foundation course online during the summer, before the school year begins and is provided as a non-credit/no-cost refresher course to review basic math concepts that will prepare students for success in their college level math courses.  In this online course, students work at their own pace to complete the course, with online tutorials, and assistance from their instructor.

The Gateway math foundation course is offered online via the student’s Canvas account.

Completion of the Gateway math foundation course is seven weeks.  The last day to begin the Gateway math foundation course is July 15, 2020.

Participation in the Gateway Program is free!  Register online by emailing registrar@becker.edu.
