Bachelor's degree in exercise science

SSam Leaheyam prides himself on his passion for exercise science and for continuing his education every day by reaching out to other strength and conditioning coaches and physical therapists to learn new techniques and hone his craft. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist through the National Strength and Conditioning Association and a certified personal trainer through the National Council on Strength and Fitness. Currently he holds the position of assistant strength and conditioning coach at Springfield College. He earned a B.S.E. in physical education, with a minor in sport coaching, from Arkansas State University, and is currently pursuing his master’s degree in strength and conditioning as well as his license in manual therapy at Springfield College.

Sam chose Becker College because of its proximity to those renowned in the athletic development industry who set up practices in the Worcester area. As a Becker College student, he interned at Michael Boyle Strength and Conditioning, Cressey Performance, Boston University (with Mike Boyle), the College of the Holy Cross (with Jeff Oliver and Jeremy Frisch), and Needham High School (with Bruce Cohn).

Sam has been a guest author on the websites of strength and conditioning experts and was published on He has trained all levels of athletes—from high school to professional—and specializes in applied exercise science through biomechanics, physiology, and developmental kinesiology.
