Learning Commons Services

The Becker College Learning Commons provide the necessary information, tools, and materials to assist the College community.

  • Ask a Librarian

    Reference assistance is available to all students, faculty, and staff. Library staff provide many levels of research support, from answering questions to guidance with topic selection, database searching, finding and citing sources, and help with course assignments. Library staff are available in person, by phone, and by email during the hours the libraries are open.

  • Consortium Borrowing

    The Academic and Research Libraries Collaborative (ARC) is a partnership among various public, academic, and special libraries in the Worcester area that provides resource-sharing privileges among its members. A current ARC card allows users to check-out materials directly from ARC member libraries. Becker College students, faculty and staff can obtain an ARC card at the circulation desk of either Swan or Ruska library. Learn more about ARC.

  • eBooks

    The eBooks Collection on EBSCOhost contains over 7,000 scholarly and reference online books covering a broad range of topics. eBooks can be downloaded with the eBooks Mobile App.

  • Faculty Resources

    Resources for faculty, including information on relevant databases, inter-library loans, and library guides, and a resource request form

  • Inter-Library Loan

    The Becker College Libraries have access to a wide variety of materials at libraries across the country. Inter-library loans for materials not owned by the Becker libraries are available at no cost to Becker College students, faculty, and staff.

  • Lynda.com

    Lynda.com is an online library of courses on software tools and skills, including including Office 2016 and Windows 10. Login to Lynda.com with your Becker username and password.

  • Printing

    Becker College implemented a new print management solution called SecurePrint in most computer labs and both libraries on campus. The new technology uses PaperCut software

  • Reserve a Study Room

    There are three study rooms available for group study in the Ruska Library. Reservations can be made online for three hour intervals.
