Equestrian Center Horses

The horses of the Equestrian Center are the varied in size and able to suit all riders lessoning and competing at the facility.

school horseTahoe: 16H QH black gelding owned by Coach Layne. Tahoe is used for every level of rider, from beginner walk trot through the 3’ riders making him one of our most special horses. He loves the I.H.S.A and his job with the Equestrian Team and soaks up any attention he can get from the animal science classes as well. He is the ultimate teacher.






school horseRanger: 17.1H Appendix QH- our gentle giant. Although a big guy, Ranger is as sweet as they come under saddle. He is enjoyed by all levels through 2’3 fences.

Sarah: 15.1H grey TB mare who competes locally all summer with her owner in the 2’3 – 2’6 divisions. During the school year with us she excels at beginner walk trot up through the intermediate division. She is a favorite of most beginner riders as she is so quiet yet responsive to the aids but also for riders with more experience to jump around.





school horseTison: 15.1H Canadian gelding. Tison has had some dressage training but is also fantastic over fences and has become a favorite to jump as he comes along. He is athletic and his puppy dog personality makes him easy to love.







school horseParker: 17.2H Hanoverian gelding. Parker is well educated on the flat. Parker is a favorite of our intermediate/open riders for both flat and fences through 3’. He knows his job and likes to take care of business. He has a big jump and a big personality to match.






school horseLyra: 15.2H Appaloosa mare, our walk/trot super horse. She is fun for all levels though and loves to jump. She also has all the right buttons for upper level riders on the flat. Don’t be fooled by her small stature, this girl can move.







school horseFinn: 16.3h Hanovarian gelding. Finders Keepers is a joy in the barn and a comfy ride. He knows his job under saddle and is point and shoot to fences. He is the newest addition to the Becker Barn.







school horseEmma: 15.3H Dutch Warmblood mare, she is miss fancy pants and knows it. She is a favorite to jump and loves to work. She has an extensive background in both dressage and the hunter and equitation rings, and she has even done some cross country. Her sweet personality makes her easy to use for animal studies students as well as team members.






school horseClay: 13.3H super pony with springs for hooves. Clay is a fantastic pony who also does not have a specialty, all level riders can learn any skill with Clay. He is well schooled on the flat and over fences, but is quiet enough for beginners. His owner sometimes jokes that he can jump 3’+ without barely leaving the ground.






school horseBoots: 16H TB gelding, Boots is a favorite for Novice-Open riders. He is green over fences but is willing to learn and students love to work with him. He is easy to be around and cute as a button on the flat.







school horseGirlie: Baby Girl is a 14.3H Paint mare, she is one of our walk trot specialists. She is green over fences but willing. She enjoys eating in her off time and lounging in the sun.

Vixen: Vixen is a 14.2H Welsh/TB cross mare. She is sassy but FUN for the upper levels. She loves to jump and is fantastic outside on the trails. She is one of the sweetest horses in the barn.
