BA / MFA (4+1) in Interactive Media

The 60-credit Master of Fine Arts in Interactive Media degree offers two convenient enrollment options:

Combined five-year BA/MFA in Interactive Media:  Students enrolling in the Becker College BA in Interactive Media program may earn their MFA degree by adding a fifth year of study.

Two-year MFA in Interactive Media:The Master of Fine Arts in Interactive Media curriculum is structured to include four semesters of graduate work plus four Residency Weeks (these Residencies occur at the beginning and end of each academic year).


When applying to the undergraduate interactive media degree students interested in earning their BA and MFA in five years should indicate this at the time of application. Students who are already enrolled can easily sign up by meeting with their Advisor and the MFA Program Director to align their course selections with the Game+ curriculum.

Students enrolled in the Game+ program will earn both their BA and MFA in Interactive Media in just five years. They will complete core game requirements during their first three years of undergraduate study with the fourth year being a bridge year into the graduate program. In the fifth(final) year of study students will complete their graduate work and thesis projects.

Students should enroll in the 4+1 program track in their freshman or sophomore year and must meet the following requirements for the first three years:

Working with peers and School of Design & Technology faculty, that idea evolved over his college career and became “Beat the Machine,” an exciting top-down, arcade-style game which launched earlier this month on Steam, the popular PC title storefront.

The Becker College varsity esports team competed in the Tespa Overwatch Collegiate National Championship playoffs that began on Saturday. Becker’s squad was one of only 64 to earn a seed in the playoffs, out of an original 612 teams that kicked off the competition during the fall season.
