Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice – Curriculum

Students who select the baccalaureate program in criminal justice will profit from a curriculum which is balanced among the broad areas of study represented by criminal justice, the social sciences, general education courses, and elective courses.

In general, the criminal justice program seeks to enhance critical thinking abilities, communication skills and the ability to conceptualize complex problems. Advanced courses help the student to process and apply information reliably while developing skills in research methodology. Understanding the history, philosophy, and organization of the agencies of criminal justice, together with an opportunity for practical experience in one or more of them, is a further goal of the criminal justice program.

Upon graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice, the student may pursue graduate studies or a professional career in law enforcement, corrections, parole, probation, court administration or within the juvenile justice system.
