Animal Care

The field of Animal Care allows students with a deep-rooted love for animals of many species to explore a variety of topics and career paths. The ever-evolving role of animals, and their caregivers, in modern society is creating job opportunities and career paths unheard of just a few years ago. Graduates from the Associates in Animal Care Program at Becker College will possess and be able to apply knowledge in the areas of animal husbandry, behavior, health and disease, breeding, and facilities management. Employment opportunities for graduates of the Associates of Animal Care Program include the areas of animal control, shelter, rescue, behavior and training, biomedical research, animal boarding, daycare, business ownership entrepreneurship, veterinary assistance, and more. Students are able to get numerous course hours utilizing the amenities of the Becker Veterinary Clinic located in the Lenfest Animal Health Center.

Combine your desire to work with animals— and expand your career options. Earn an Associate’s Degree in Animal Care plus a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Criminal Justice, Forensic Science (Criminalistics), or Psychology (MHC) in the same amount of time as a Bachelor’s Degree alone!

Becker students’ artwork selected for ArtsWorcester College Show

Artwork by eight Becker College students will be featured in the Sixteenth Annual ArtsWorcester College Show, which runs from Jan. 31-March 7. This exhibit will be on view in ArtsWorcester’s East and West Galleries, at 44 Portland St, in Worcester.  Both the art galleries and the opening reception — which will be held from 6-9 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 31 — are free and open to the public.

Becker receives Reliant Foundation grant for Mental Health Counseling program

Becker College has been awarded a $30,000 grant from the Reliant Foundation to fund a Mental Health Career Pipeline Scholarship for students enrolled in the College’s Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling. The grant will help address the shortage of mental health professionals in the Greater Worcester area by supporting students in the program.

Becker College will host a New England Collegiate Conference (NECC) Esports Showcase on Friday, January 31, from 1:30-5 p.m.  The event, which is being held in partnership with the Massachusetts Digital Game Institute (MassDiGI), will take place in the Colleen C. Barrett Center for Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship, at 80 William Street, on the College’s Worcester Campus.
