In addition, Becker College’s Master of Fine Arts in Interactive Media moved up to #10 in the world in the Princeton Review’s graduate school rankings.

In its “10 Best Schools for Gamers,” College Magazine ranked Becker College as their top choice.

Three Pro NBA2K players from the Boston Celtics CLTX team and their coach will be at the Becker College’s booth (#8048) at PAX East tomorrow, Saturday, starting at 1 p.m., to play NBA2K 1v1 with fans.   Celtics CLTX team members oFAB, Bully2K, EasyMoneyLOE, and coach Ricco Phinisee, will be at the Becker College PAX Booth until about 4 p.m.  In addition to playing NBA2K, they will be sharing tips and tricks with visitors and expect to have great conversations.

When the men’s ice hockey teams from Becker College and Wentworth Institute of Technology face off on Saturday, Feb. 8, at 1:10 p.m., they’ll be playing with the goal of fighting cancer. The two colleges are participating in a Hockey Fights Cancer event, to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Becker College’s inaugural High School Winter Esports Invitational — The Becker Esports Cup — is now underway.  
On January 25, the state champion varsity esports teams from Shrewsbury High School (MA) and Woodstock Academy (CT) met in the College’s Colleen C. Barrett Center for Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship to compete in the first on-site match of the League of Legends tournament.

Becker College has been awarded a $30,000 grant from the Reliant Foundation to fund a Mental Health Career Pipeline Scholarship for students enrolled in the College’s Master of Arts in Mental Health Counseling. The grant will help address the shortage of mental health professionals in the Greater Worcester area by supporting students in the program.

Becker College’s Registered Nursing Program has been ranked #1 out of 50 nursing schools in Massachusetts by Nursingprocess.org. Ranking factors investigate four broad areas: academic quality, NCLEX-RN exam performance, affordability, and the overall reputation of the school, with academic quality and NCLEX-RN first-time pass rate given the maximum weight as indicators of the College’s performance record.

Becker College’s varsity Overwatch team took center stage in a recently-published Experience Magazine story about esports.

The story, “Forget football. Video games are the next big college sport,” opens from the perspective of Becker’s Overwatch coach, Nick “Shifty” Travis, giving a pep talk to the members of College’s varsity team before a match, and expands to discuss the growth and mainstream acceptance of esports.
