There are several ways to get involved with the programming board:
1.) Be involved as a General Member
2.) Become a committee chair
3.) Serve as one of the two co-chairs
Begin your involvement with the Programming Board by volunteering on one of the number of committees that make up the board. General members will help in every stage of the event planning process — from brainstorming event ideas to implementing and attending them. No prior experience in event planning is necessary to be involved as a general member. However, we ask that you be interested in providing your fellow students with quality programs and be willing to be a part of the event planning process.
Committee chairs work with the co-chairs, other committee chairs, general members and advisor to choose events to plan and implement. They also communicate with vendors/agents, reserve venues, coordinate event logistics, create budgets, and carry out events.
Co-chairs will also work on the various event planning logistics with the additional responsibility of serving as mentors to the committee chairs and general members of CAB, as well as being the primary points of contact for vision, direction and guidance amongst the CAB leadership team.
All Becker College students are invited and eligible to serve as general members of the Campus Activities Board. In line with the College’s core value of excellence, each CAB executive board member must maintain an overall GPA of 2.5 per semester. General members of CAB are expected to maintain a 2.25 GPA. By meeting this standard, members of the board will demonstrate a commitment to excellence within the classroom, as well as balance and a well roundedness outside the classroom. There are several options to get involved with the Campus Activities Board: students may opt to participate in the organization by serving as one of the two co-chairs to lead the board, they may work within a committee chairperson position, or choose to take part as a general member.
