Dr. Douglas Smith ’64L

Dr. Douglas Smith ’64L is the Director of Graduate Programs, as well as a senior professor at Shepherd University. He has authored over 50 books and articles and frequently travels to other countries as a visiting professor. His most recent sojourn was in Turkey, where he lectured at numerous universities on the issue of American foreign policy. He is currently collecting material for a book that addresses the history of educational philosophy from the early Christian Era to the present, with a focus on Mustafa Ataturk, the founding father of modern-day secular Turkey (1927 – 1938).
