Instructions to Waive Student Health Insurance 

INSTRUCTIONS TO WAIVE THE STUDENT HEALTH INSURANCE PLAN ON LINE

The webiste to waive insurance for Fall 2008 usually opens by mid June 2008.

If you have comparable coverage from another insurance company that will cover you for the entire 2008/2009 academic year, you are eligible to waive the mandatory Student Health Insurance program, and have the insurance charge removed from your Becker College student account. Please make note of the waiver deadline of September 19, 2008; requests to waive will not be accepted after this deadline date, and you will be responsible for payment of the student insurance premium.

Please follow these instructions to waive the student coverage on-line:

1. Visit www.universityhealthplans.com

2. Click on “Becker College”

3. Click on the box that says "Click here to Waive"

4. Fill in all the required information, including a valid email address – if a piece of required information is missing, your waiver will NOT be accepted.

5. Submit the waiver form. Shortly thereafter, you will receive a response via email indicating whether your waiver was accepted or not. If the waiver has not been accepted, fill it out again and resubmit. If it still has not been accepted, contact University Health Plans via email (click on icon at bottom of webpage), or at 1-800-437-6448, or (617) 472-5324.

All eligible students will be automatically enrolled in this plan unless they certify that they have comparable coverage by completing the waiver form. YOU MUST COMPLETE this waiver form by the applicable deadlines. Failure to complete this waiver by the deadline will result in your mandatory purchase of the College’s health plan, without the possibility of later waiver, refund or cancellation.
