Women's Basketball Becker 75 Newbury 33

Leicester, MA – Becker College senior guard Kristin Karat (Enfield, MA) was a perfect 7 for 7 from the field, 6 for 6 from behind the three point line as she scored 20 first half points as the Lady Hawks defeated Newbury College 75-33 in non-conference action Thursday night at Leicester Gymnasium.

 

Becker improves to 11-9, 6-3 NAC. Newbury falls to 2-18.

 

Becker held a 45-16 lead at half and shot 49% for the game. Newbury struggled from the floor all night, shooting only 16% for the game. Becker, who out rebound the Nighthawks 45-42, had every player grab a rebound. Beth Pion (Enfield, CT) had the team-high 8 rebounds.

 

Senior Brittany Evans (Danielson, CT) added 13 points, 3 rebounds and 3 assists. Catherine Millette (Columbia, CT) scored a career high 10 points off the bench.

 

Newbury was led by Catherine Cullen (Beverly, MA) who had the games only double-double, 10 points and 14 rebounds and Ashley Monteiro (Cambridge, MA) who contributed 12 points.

 

Becker returns to action on Saturday, February 9^th as they host Elms at 1:00pm.
