Evans Tops 1000 points

Leicester, MA- The Becker College woman’s basketball team defeated Bay Path College 49-38 to capture their 4^th win in a row. The Hawks were led by senior Brittany Evans (Danielson, CT) with 14 points. Evans scored her 1000^th career point when Heidi Miller (Sanbornton, NH) fed Evans at the top of the key for a quick Jumper that sent Becker fans into a frenzy. Evans becomes just the fourth women in Becker history to reach the milestone.

 

Beth Pion (Enfield, CT), and Courtney Fiske (Westfield, MA) each added 11 points for the Hawks. Pion moved into 2^nd place for career points with 1046, passing Sherrie Kennie (1042 points). Pion needs nine points to become the school’s all-time women’s points leader.

 

Bay Path College was led by Jessica Hunt (Madison, CT) who had a double- double scoring 16 points and pulling down 15 rebounds.

 

The Hawks improved their record to 8-6 (4-2 NAC), Bay Path Fell to 1-12 (0-5 NAC) on the year.

 

The Hawks will travel to Maine this weekend for a Friday night tilt with Thomas College (8:00 pm) and a Saturday afternoon game at the University of Maine – Farmington.
