Men's Basketball - Hawks Too Much for Regis College

 
WESTON, Mass-You knew this game was going to have some excitement when Kevin Miranda (Brockton, MA) of Becker would open the game with a three pointer. Becker started out strong, which ultimately led to its defeat of Regis College 88-74.
 
Answering the question of whether Regis was up to challenge Becker, Derrick Neal (Roxbury, MA) would answer with a three as well. Junior Travis Suber (Springfield, MA) led all scorers with 29 points on the night. Suber would also contribute with five assist, and snag seven boards.
 
At times Regis College would make attempts at cutting into the Hawks first half control, bringing the point difference within one with 10:00 minutes remaining in the first. Suber would push the Hawks ahead when he dropped a three from the right arch. Miranda, and Drew Schroll (Portland, CT) would play a major factor in Becker’s defeat over Regis, as they would both contribute 15 points.
 
Several player’s would step out for Regis, most notably, Herb Lozano (Boston, MA) would give the Pride 18 points, followed by Neal with 17, and Mike Barile (Windsor Locks, CT) with 11.
 
Down by six at the half, Regis would come out looking to close the gap on Becker. Schroll would make his presence known opening the game with a three from the left side. The Becker trio would continue to send the message that they were out to win as Suber would add another three, followed by a jumper by DJ Exum (New London, CT).
 
With 2:35 remaining in the game, Becker opened its advantage to 21 points. Free throws would help the Pride cut Becker’s lead to 14, but effort was too late as the Hawks held out for the win.
