Hawks Soar into Semifinals
Sunday, October 28th Leicester, MA – The Becker Hawk’s men’s soccer team defeated the Terriers of Thomas College 3-0 in North Atlantic Conference quarter-final play. The Hawks advance to the NAC semi-finals to face Husson College on Wednesday, October 31st at 1:30 pm at Becker College. Becker improves its record to 15-5 (6-2 NAC) and the Terriers finish their season at 7-9-3 (2-5-1 NAC). The Hawks got on board late in the first half on a goal by Ali Samura (Milton, MA) in the 44th minute. Snjezan Telebak (Chicago, IL) fed the ball thru the box to Samura for the goal. Thomas’ best scoring opportunity of the half came off the foot of Ryan Ackerman (Topsham, ME) with Hawks goaltender Aaron Fill (Ladner, BC) making the save.
Telebak picked up his second assist of the game on a beautiful cross from the right side that Dircilino DeBrito (New Bedford, MA) put past Terriers keeper Russell Beckwith (North Berwick, ME) to make the game 2-0 at the 69th minute.
DeBrito finished out the scoring with a breakaway from midfield at the 82nd minute.
Beckwith finished with four saves; Fill had one save for his fifth shutout of the season.
