Clubs and Organizations
As a small college responsive to your needs, Becker makes every effort to support new clubs and student organizations. Because student interests vary from year to year, new ideas and suggestions are always welcome. If you have a special interest that you would like to see developed into a club or a question on any of these clubs, please contact the Director of Student Activities.
Clubs and organizations currently offered:
- Active Minds on Campus – Active Minds is the nation’s only peer-to-peer organization dedicated to raising awareness about mental health among college students. The organization serves as the your adult voice in mental health advocacy on over one hundred college campuses nationwide. The group works closely with campus counseling services to plan events that: work to reduce the stigma that surrounds mental health disorders; educate students about the prevalence of mental health disorders, the risks, signs, and symptoms of particular disorders, and available resources for seeking help; expose student to the “mentally-ill” – particularly young adults living with a mental health disorder; and plan campus-friendly events that attract as much of the school community as possible.
- Alpha Chi – This is an honor society that recognizes the top 10% of the junior and senior class. Students are invited to join if they meet the requirements during either their junior or senior year.
- Animal Health Club (AHC) – The mission of this club is to promote the health and welfare of all animals. Sharing knowledge learned in the animal care, veterinary technology, and veterinary science programs, students are given the opportunity to work with peers, professors, and members of the community in order to advance their learning and to ultimately become better citizens of the world. The Animal Health Club strives to improve awareness of the needs of our companions, providing any student at the college the chance to gain knowledge and develop their curiosity about animals outside of a classroom setting. Students participating in the AHC can develop skills to help provide care and compassion to all animals in the communities in which we live.
- Band – This club is just getting started this year. Based on student interest, the direction and goals of the club will be determined.
- BC Mission2Go – This club will plan and organize mission trips, domestic and international, for the greater college community. Many colleges and campus ministry programs participate in such travel each year, crossing boundaries about diverse cultures and peoples. In a world torn by strife and gross inequalities of wealth, safety, and opportunity, making sure mission trips matter is an urgent concern in today’s global context – and not only matter but matter for the good of both those who take the journey and those who receive them. Mission trips play an important role in the formation of young people. Immersion experiences, integrated with contemplation and action, open us to new experiences of ourselves and the world. They provide opportunities to serve the less fortunate and to cultivate compassion, especially in areas where there is need is of critical presence – in vital alliances and essential companionship… to be with people at the point of deepest need – spiritually, physically, emotionally, and/or economically.
- Becker College Interior Design Club – This club’s mission is to improve the educational experience of Becker College Interior Design students through community service work and volunteer efforts. Field trips to museums, professional organizations, and interesting architectural structures will further broaden student learning.

The members of the club will also write why they liked or disliked a move and their overall thoughts on the movie. This club will inform students and aid students in picking the best movie in the theatre.

- Traditional Gaming Club – This club is going to focus on the roots of all gaming: dice, pen and paper, and tabletop gaming. We aim to provide those interested, with an atmosphere of friendly gaming, which, is outside the realm of electronics. The people who will benefit the most from this are those in the Game Design, or Game Programming majors. They will hone the artistic skills of both their mind, and their hands. Concept and setting are a big part of both traditional gaming and computer gaming, and both force a young adult’s mind to really think. Also, painting and drawing are big parts of traditional gaming and computer gaming, and many of the games we will be playing at the club, require both. What the Traditional Gaming Club offers is an in depth, artistic and enjoyable, background in everything that they are working on, on a day to day basis. Because without knowledge of where current gaming came from, how can they hope to carry on into the industry, and work on their own?
- Yearbook Committee – This is the group of students responsible for putting together the College yearbook. They work throughout the semester taking pictures, designing layouts, and creating the pages for the yearbook.
