Residential Life

Residence Life - Mission Statement

The goal of Residence Life Services at Becker College is to provide resident students with a safe living environment that fosters student development and independence. In addition to an environment that supports the educational mission of the College, resident students have the opportunity to live in a diverse community with people from different backgrounds, values, and beliefs. The Residence Life Staff are available and trained to encourage and assist students in developing communication and problem solving skills that will enhance their abilities to attain life goals. Residents are provided social and educational programs to increase social interactions and knowledge while building community in the residence halls and throughout Becker College. There are various opportunities on campus that promote leadership skills and community involvement such as the Student Government Association, Clubs/Organizations, and Student Activities.

The Residence Life Staff and Student Affairs here at Becker College strive to enhance your overall college experience. We know that your residence hall experiences will contribute to your student development in such a way as to form lasting friendships while you learn and live in a diverse community based on mutual respect with an appreciation for individual needs and differences. We look forward to your presence in our residential community life.

Residence Life and Housing

A variety of housing options are available for those students who choose to live on campus. You may select to live on either campus through the admissions office. Both campuses offer all female, all male, co-ed, over 21, and all freshman living spaces. The Worcester campus is set in an urban setting while the Leicester campus offers a little bit of the country.

Area Coordinator

The area coordinator is typically a non-student over the age of 21. He or she is available to aid students in a variety of ways. A student’s safety, academic success, social needs, emotional needs and a positive experience are of the utmost importance of the area coordinator.

The area coordinator is responsible for implementing and upholding Becker College polices and regulations. It is the job of the area coordinator to inform students of infractions of the rules and take appropriate disciplinary action and make referrals as needed.

Resident Assistant

The resident assistant is a student selected to assist the area coordinator in the daily management of the residence hall. He or she is eager to help their fellow student enjoy their college experience. The resident assistant is knowledgeable of the services provided by the College and is trained to assist students with questions and concerns.
