Counseling Services

Welcome to Counseling Services!

Our goal is to assist students in their academic, social, emotional and personal development.

College can be a stressful time for many students: dealing with new academic challenges, developing new important relationships, coping with anxiety or depression, negotiating adult relationships with their families. Non-traditional students also have to balance the demands of work, classes, and family.

Students who make use of counseling services during their academic careers are able to learn new skills, learn more about themselves, and become more confident in their abilities and in their relationships with others.

Counseling Services provides:

  • Individual counseling for Becker students
  • Support groups on a variety of issues, determined by student need and interest.
  • Educational programs to encourage growth outside the classroom
  • Consultation to faculty, staff, administration and parents
  • Referrals for specialized services and medication off-campus
  • Evaluation and referrals for psychological emergencies
  • Resource library of books, tapes, CDs and videos
