Bachelor of Arts in Psychology - Early Childhood Education Concentration

Leading to Massachusetts Department of Education Teacher Licensure - Admission into the Education Licensure Programs: Early Childhood (PK-2) and Elementary (1-6)

At the end of the sophomore year, students are invited to apply for admission into an education licensure program of study. To be considered for admission, applicants must submit an essay explaining why they want to be a classroom teacher, two letters from individuals who can attest to the applicant's suitability to become a teacher, a degree audit indicating a cumulative G.P.A. of 2.5 overall and a 3.0 in all education and related courses, and evidence that the applicant has passed the Communication and Literacy skills MTEL. The chair of the department will notify students of their acceptance into a program. Those who successfully complete the licensure program will graduate with "distinction in Education."
