Online Payment Initiative
Becker College is excited to announce the implementation of on-line credit card and electronic check payment options. On-line services are accessible through your Insite account. Our new on-line payment services will offer students and their parents the flexibility and convenience to view and pay their bills electronically. Becker College feels that this new initiative will give families the opportunity to make payment from the convenience of their own home without having to call, mail or wait in lines for paying their bills to meet the billing due dates..
In order to continue to offer the convenience of credit card payments, Becker College has contracted with Official Payments to process credit card payments on line through your Insite account. In our continuing efforts to manage the cost of providing a quality education, Becker College can no longer cover the costs of credit cards for payment on student accounts. Credit card fees cost Becker College a substantial amount annually. The cost of accepting credit cards has been borne by all students, regardless of whether or not they use a credit card to make a student bill payment.
Students paying for their tuition and fees by credit card will see several changes.
1. MasterCard, Discover and American Express cards will be accepted. VISA CARDS WILL NO LONGER BE ACCEPTED, due to VISA regulations.
2. Credit card payments will only be accepted through INSITE. EFFECTIVE JUNE 1, 2009 BECKER COLLEGE WILL NO LONGER ACCEPT CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS IN THE OFFICE OF STUDENT ACCOUNTS (BY PHONE, MAIL OR IN PERSON) . ALL CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS WILL NEED TO BE MADE THROUGH INSITE.
3. Official Payments will charge a convenience fee of 2.5% of the payment amount for this service. Students will be informed of the convenience fee prior to submitting a payment for processing.
In addition to on-line credit card processing via your Insite account Becker College will also be offering e-checks as a no-fee alternative to credit card payments. The e-check payment option will be accessible through Insite as an additional payment option. The Student Accounts Office will continue to accept paper check payments or money orders by mail and in person. Cash is also accepted as an in-person transaction.
