Prolific author of encyclopedia articles, James R. Belpedio, ArtsD., professor of history and government at Becker College, is anticipating the publication of four new pieces, accepted by the Encyclopedia of Early American History.

"Edwin Booth, Actor" is a biography of the great American Shakespearean actor, and brother of John Wilkes Booth.

"Cyrus Hall McCormick: Inventor and Manufacturer" is a biography of the inventor and manufacturer of the reaper, one of the greatest advances in technology in the 19th century.

"Prigg V. Pennsylvania" is a case brief of the important 1842 Supreme Court decision that affected the outcome of runaway slave cases prior to the Civil War.

"The Oregon Trail" is a brief history of the route that settlers followed on their trek to the Northwest between 1820 and 1870.

Some of Dr. Belpedio’s other articles include “Mildred Pierce,” and “The Maltese Falcon,” in the St. James Encyclopedia of Pop Culture. He is also a frequent presenter at conferences on film and popular culture.
