The Trustees of Becker College today announced that President Kenneth Zirkle has submitted his resignation to accept the position of president of Post University. Post is a career-oriented and student focused university located in Waterbury, Conn. Dr. Zirkle will begin his duties at Post this fall. He and his wife, Chris, have served Becker College for nearly five years. During this time the College has experienced substantial growth, developed several new programs and has become a significant presence in the community. President Zirkle said, “I’m proud of what we’ve accomplished at Becker during my tenure and I’m confident that Becker is poised to reach even greater heights.”

During Dr. Zirkle’s tenure, the enrollment at Becker College has grown from approximately 1,000 to 1,600 students. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing Program has been established and the College’s accelerated learning programs have been greatly expanded to include the opening of a center in Southboro, Mass. Dr. Zirkle has also initiated new athletic programs that include football, and men’s ice hockey.  During this time Becker has built a new residence hall and a new athletic field that will open this fall.

John Prosser, chairman of the Board, stated, “President Zirkle has been a great leader for Becker and we wish him great success with his new challenge.”  Mr. Prosser will lead the College until an interim president can be appointed by the Board of Trustees.
