Published on Friday, February 27th, 2009

The Becker chapter of the National Student Nurses Association (NSNA) held a blood pressure screening today for the Becker College community and the public in the Boutin Student Center at 44 West Street on the Worcester campus.

Nursing students in their first, second ,and third semesters tested blood pressure and distributed public health information for more than 60 visitors during their 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. session. A second session followed, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m.

The Becker NSNA chapter, the first at the college, was founded last fall to further develop students’ nursing skills, contribute to the community at large, and otherwise support  the students as they embark on their nursing careers. The NSNA programs events to promote good health throughout the year. The Carol Walsh Memorial Blood Drive, in honor of the longtime Becker nursing professor, takes place on April 1.
