Lost Jack Kerouac Novel Edited by Professor Dawn Ward
Dawn M. Ward, Ph.D., Becker College professor of graphic design and visual arts, edited and introduced Jack Kerouac’s lost novel, The Sea is my Brother, published for the first time by England’s Penguin Classics. In his writings, Kerouac described the story as “man’s simple revolt from society as it is, with the inequalities, frustration, and self-inflicted agonies.”
Professor Ward said in an interview that the book shows a different side of Kerouac, perhaps best known as a writer of the Beat Generation and for his novel, On the Road. “This book is really quite important as it shows how Jack developed his writing process,” she said.
