Becker Students Help Build Houses on Spring Break

Published on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2009

Raleigh, North Carolina is the Spring Break destination for 22 Becker College students and three staff members. Instead of the Hilton, they’ll be sleeping on the floor of the Forrest Hills Baptist Church and a mission house next door. The Becker delegation will build framing for houses in a development served by the Wake County, Va. Habitat for Humanity.

This is the fifth year the Becker College Habitat for Humanity student group will participate in the Alternative Spring Break program, and the numbers keep increasing from six participants the first year. Economic difficulties on all sides kept this year’s group from reaching 30.
