A group of Becker College students left campus today en route to the State House in Boston. They will join other students from as many as 59 colleges around the state for Financial Aid Day, an opportunity led by the Association of Independent Colleges and Universities in Massachusetts (AICUM) for students to thank their local representatives for supporting state need-based financial aid and to urge the government’s continued support.

After a presentation from AICUM, the students will visit the offices of their state senators and representatives. The Becker students will visit representatives of the towns of Canton, Lynn, North Attleboro, Westfield and Worcester. They will also express their thanks to Harriette Chandler and Vincent  Pedone on behalf of Becker’s Worcester campus, and Michael  Moore and John Binienda on behalf of the Leicester campus.

An announcement from AICUM pointed out, "The Legislature is facing tough economic choices this year, making it more important than ever to convey the message that financial aid is vital to students working to pursue their dreams through higher education."
