Ilir Mborja and "Decaying Book"Ilir Mborja’s mixed media piece, "Decaying Book," took second prize in the sixth annual Colleges of Worcester Consortium Art Show. The cover of "Decaying Book" is metal, the pages include hard stock paper, photographs, even a spoon, and it was all left out in the rain, which allowed the cover to rust and the pages to take on a rough, weathered look. Mborja also submitted work that was exhibited in last year’s Consortium show.

The prize winners and honorable mentions were recognized at the show’s opening on Saturday, February 6. The exhibit is on display at ARTSWorcester’s Aurora Gallery 660 Main Street, Worcester, Mass.

More than 300 students from area colleges submitted work to the juried show. This year’s jurors were Antonio Fonseca, a noted painter and director of education at Sevengaits Studio School in Southbridge, and William Rudolph, curator of American art at Worcester Art Museum.
