Becker Employee Wins Business Competition

Tom Ingrassia, academic advisor in the Center for Accelerated and Professional Studies, won top honors in the StartupNation 2008 Home-Based 100 competition. Tom Ingrassia Productions & Artist Management finished in the Top Ten in the “Boomers Back in Business” category.
The winners revealed a trend emerging in the current economic downturn – a trend that shows business owners bucking the climate and becoming successful, much like Microsoft and General Electric did. As Ingrassia said, “My success illustrates that even the most ordinary people can do extraordinary things. I’m not a superhero. I’m just an average guy.”
Judges for this year’s contest included Adam Lowry, co-founder of Method Products; Howard Behar, former president of Starbuck North America; and John Jantsch, founder of Duct Tape Marketing.
